The Azienda Agricola Barale traces its roots all the way back to the years when the reign of Italy was born. At that time Barolo wine was just appeared on the scene in the Langhe, promoted by the Marquise Falletti and Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour.
Francesco Barale, Sergio’s great – grandfather, was among the pioneers in the production of this blessed wine. However it was thanks to his son Carlo that our historic brand was founded. Born in 1870, Carlo got married with Margherita Rinaldi in 1900 and together with his father in law ran the Barale Rinaldi, one of the oldest cellar appeared in Barolo village.

In the first years of the 20th century, Carlo bought the manor house in the center of the village where he founded the winecellar he gave to his sons Giovanni Battista, Francesco and Giuseppe: the Barale Fratelli.
Today Sergio, Giuseppe’s son, takes up the centuries old family experience and passes it on to his daughters Eleonora and Gloria.
Ours is a company proudly rooted in the territory that has always remained family-owned. We look to the future with serenity and with the firm intention of giving proper continuity to a story that began 150 years ago and that we hope will never end.
